Mr. Somchai, while handing over the cheque stated that AIS is willing
to help AIT, whenever the need arises. This is not the first occasion
when AIS has offered to help AIT. In the immediate aftermath of the
2011 flood, when the AIT campus was inundated, AIS had offered space at
Intouch Towers which had enabled AIT to resume its operations.
Accompanying Mr. Somchai was Ms. Wilai Keangpradoo, Senior Vice
President, Public Relations, AIT; and AIT alumnus Mr.Surachai
Hirannitichai (Telecommunications, 1998). Alumnus Dr. Chainarong Na
Lamphun, who along with his family had jointly donated 2 Million Baht
on 13 March 2015 also graced the occasion.
Prof. Worsak was accompanied by Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Director,
Fundraising and Interim Head, Alumni Affairs.
The donation by AIS (Intouch Holdings) joins other major corporates
who have donated more than one million for the AIT library
modernization, which include Siam Cement Group (10 million), Thai Pipe
Industry (2 million), Bangchak Petroleum (2 million) and Amata
Corporation (1 million).
