Wetlands International: Development of 'best practices and lessons learnt'

The Wetlands and Poverty Reduction Project of Wetlands International works on the development of best practices and lessons learned of poverty-environment issues in wetland areas. Organizations and companies are invited to develop this. Read more in the 'Terms of Reference'.

UNESCAP vacancies

Terms of Reference – For consultants/individual contractors

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) seeks and actively promotes effective implementation of the relevant solutions and recommendations of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI) of the World Summit on Sustainable Development, and Agenda 21, the Millennium Development Goals, of the UNESCAP Commission Sessions and of other UN, global, international and regional agreements, as well as the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific 2005 and its Regional Implementation Plan for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific, 2006-2010 in the Asia Pacific region.

Objectives:

To expand inventory of data for the eco-efficiency of resource usage by economic system particularly in countries of the region as well;
To obtain and provide data
Data must make it possible to go beyond an aggregate, national level and look at issues of production and consumption separately
To assist in liaison with contacts and partner institution
To maintain contact database

Outputs from the work assignment (must be tangible and measurable)

Inventory of consumption and production data for countries in the region.
Delivery Date: Updates produced by first Monday of each month

Assist with maintenance of contact database for the project. Assist in liaison between contacts and subcontracted institution(s). Assist in providing data and relevant information to subcontracted institution.
Delivery Date: Updates produced by first Monday of each month

Duration of contract: from 6 September to 6 December 2006 with an actual work period of 3 months.

Terms of payment: Payment of US$3,000, paid in three payments of $1,000 each one at the end of each month.
