Visiting faculty joins Urban Environmental Management
The Urban Environmental Management field of study at the School of Environment, Resources and Development welcomes Prof. Ashutosh Sharma (right), as a Visiting Professor from the Department of Architecture and Planning, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, India for the August 2006 Semester.
Prof. Sharma received his Ph.D (Architecture, Planning & Environment Psychology) from the Barkatullah University, Bhopal, India in 2000, and has served as a Professor in the Department of Architecture and Planning and Dean of Administration, Planning & Resource Generation, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal.
Prof. Sharma will be teaching the course ED79.05: Urbanization and Environmental Policy during the August 2006 semester.
Prof. Sharma's main areas of research include community & housing planning & sustainable environmental designs; international city/country management works of ICMA; institutional capacity on climate change and transformation of public spaces. Prof. Sharma was awarded the Indo-Dutch Fellowship from Netherlands & HUDCO/HSMI, New Delhi for research on 'Transformation of Open Spaces' in 1993. The project for architectural & interior design for 'New Vadhan Sabha' of M.P. on which he worked as resident architect has received the prestigious 'Aga Khan Award' in 2001. His 'Documentation of Heritage Sites & Building' received prestigious 'Louis-I-Khan' awards for number of times at Nasa Conventions on 1999-2003.
