Project Manager/CIDA- AIT SEA-UEMA
CIDA-AIT Southeast Asia UEM Applications (SEA-UEMA) Project (2003-2008) is recruiting a Project Manager for the overall development, management and implementation of the project. S(he) works in close partnership with the Project Director, Project Component Coordinators, and the Project Gender Specialist. S(he) serves as Member-secretary of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) as well as of the Project Management Team and the Applications Selection Committee.
The project contributes to the improvement of urban environmental conditions, particularly for the poor men and women, in the major cities of Southeast Asia (SEA). It seeks to attain improved implementation and sharing of sound urban environmental management policies and practices in the three key urban environmental sub-sectors (water and sanitation, solid waste, and air pollution) in the region with gender equality as the crosscutting theme.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree, preferably a doctorate, in development planning and management related field.
- Substantial knowledge and five to ten years of experience in project management, preferably in urban environment related projects.
- Knowledge and experience of urban environmental planning and management issues, problems and potential solutions in Southeast Asia is desired.
- Familiarity with political, social and institutional organisations and mechanisms in Southeast Asia.
- Excellent English proficiency with demonstrated writing skills.
- Creativity in solving problems related to project management including financial management and human resource management.
- Knowledge and experience in capacity building and gender equality in the Southeast Asian context.
- Experience in communications and promotion is an advantage.
- Articulate, ability to work both independently and in a team, and remain committed to the mission and principles of CIDA and AIT.
