PMSE will unleash Thailand’s “brain power” : Prof Worsak

The Professional Master's Program on Software Engineering (PMSE)
launched jointly by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the
National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) will help
Thailand to provide innovative products and solutions based on "brain
power". This was stated by Prof. Dr. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Vice
President for Resources Development and Dean of School of Engineering
and Technology during his presentation on the occasion of the signing
of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the PMSE course.

Prof Worsak identified what he termed as 5 I's of the program, namely
Information Technology, Innovation, International Perspective,
Integration and Industrial Partnership.
He remarked that there was a "dead valley" between the Academia and
the Industry and the PMSE course would prove to be a bridge between the
two.

The PMSE course has a Professional Learning Concept and an Industry
Designed Curriculum. The Interdisciplinary curriculum developed in
consultation with the Software Industry is highly influenced by
entrepreneurship and globalization. Professionals with at least three
years of working experience can study the professional program. They
require a Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or
any related field. They should be proficient in English. The PMSE is an
intensive one year program with flexible work load.

The MOA was widely reported by the media in Thailand
