In a first for the Institute, AIT brought its promotional 50th Anniversary Exhibition “Partnering Asia’s Future” to the ultra sleek Gaysorn shopping centre located in downtown Bangkok last week.
At a ceremony on August 20 graced by special VIP guest former President of the Republic of the Philippines, Fidel V. Ramos, AIT’s Golden Jubilee Exhibit was unveiled to the viewing public who frequent the chic shops that line the levels of the high-end retail centre. In his remarks to the crowd, President Ramos noted his delight to be involved in such a unique event and wished AIT great success with the promotional initiative.
The series of eighteen panels and centerpiece that comprise the exhibit pay tribute to AIT’s 50-year past, explain aspects of its present, and outline its exciting plans for the future.
H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees, presided over the ceremony to inaugurate the exhibit. AIT President Said Irandoust extended his heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Institute to President Ramos for joining AIT at this special occasion. The event was also attended by AIT Board of Trustee member Mr. Jean-Pierre Verbiest, Chairman of Executive Committee, AIT Country Director, Thailand Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank.
Situated in the main atrium leading to the main entrance on Sukhumvit Road, AIT’s exhibit is the first sight entering shoppers see on the mall’s main level. Gaysorn is located close to the Chidlom BTS station at the Rachaprasorn intersection across from the famous Erawan Temple and Central World shopping mall.
Welcoming AIT to its temporary home in the centre of the city’s prime shopping distict, Gaysorn officials said they were pleased by the visual quality of Partnering Asia’s Future, saying it fits well with the high quality experience Gaysorn provides to all its patrons.
The AIT exhibit will be housed at Gaysorn from August 20 – September 3, when it will return to its permanent home on campus at AIT’s Conference Center.
