AITAA organized the 38th Government Board Meeting (GBM) and related
events at AIT during 6-8 September 2009. A dinner cruise was organized
on 6 September which was arranged by the AITAA Mother and Thailand
Chapter. The event was joined by many of AIT distinguished alumni,
former senior administrators and faculty some of whom came all the way
from the Colorado State University, and were part of the faculty body
that taught at AIT during its founding years.
The meeting of the AITAA GBM which took place on Monday, 7 September
at the AIT Conference Center Auditorium was a record in terms of
participation with the attendance of 18 chapters. The event was hosted
by the Mother Chapter and Thailand Chapter. At the meeting AIT
President Said Irandoust made a presentation similar to the one he had
done at recent Institute Forum, reporting on the financial situation,
student enrolment trend as well as ongoing and planned activities and
initiatives including an elaboration on the Public-Private Partnership
(PPP) concept which the institute is currently exploring for AIT.
Future meetings of the AITAA GBM will be hosted by the following
chapters, namely, Vietnam (2010); Malaysia (2011); India (2012) and
Myanmar (2013).
