CanalAVIST streams AIT’s international climate change conference to Vietnam and France

VIRTUAL CONFERENCE:

CanalAVIST streamed the International Conference on Sustainable
Development in the context of Climate Change (SDCC) held from 24-25
September at the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) to audiences
at the AIT Center in Vietnam (AITCV), Hanoi, and to Polytech Nice, in
France.

UNESCAP Executive Secretary, Dr. Noeleen Heyzer, inaugurated the
conference http://tinyurl.com/y85lnqc which
gathered partners and stakeholders to discuss emerging and urgent
issues and plan joint research efforts. The UN Under-Secretary
General  expressed her delight of having participants from Vietnam
attend virtually, expanding the audience of the event by making full
use of information technology to elevate its international reach while
limiting the carbon footprint by removing the need for travel.

The SDCC conference was also broadcast in real-time to Polytech
Nice in France (Europe). The conference drew a remote audience of 60 in
Vietnam (both from AITCV and the National Center for Scientific and
Technological Information Vietnam) and about 20 at Polytech Nice in
France. More than 100 participants were present on-site for the
conference. It was the first climate change-related event ever
broadcast over CanalAVIST.

CanalAVIST streams high quality video through the Euro-Asian high
speed research and education network TEIN3 ( http://www.tein3.net)

Cement Group (SCG).
CanalAVIST is set to broadcast the Asian School on Computer Science and
the International Workshop on Biomedical Engineering Research and
Education Collaboration in November 2009.
