Thai-ASEAN News (TAN) Network features AIT Climate Change Conference and Centre of Excellence

Thai-ASEAN News (TAN) Network, Thailand's only 24-hour English
news channel, featured the launch of the Centre of Excellence on
Sustainable Development in the Context of Climate Change (SDCC)
and AIT's recently-held International Conference on
Climate Change in a video report broadcast on September
28, 2009.

The report emphasized how AIT’s new research focus could play a role in
achieving a new paradigm needed to tackle climate change and
poverty across the Asia-Pacific region. In an interview,
UN/ESCAP Executive Secretary and UN Under-Secretary General, Dr.
Noeleen Heyzer, stressed the importance of focusing on the development
of technologies that could make a difference, and to tackle issues such
as energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, water management and
food security.
