The entire text of his message is as follows:
to thank all members of the AIT community for their hard work and
efforts, in what has been yet another challenging but equally rewarding
year for the Institute. It has also been a year that has revealed
tremendous commitment and resilience on the part of students, faculty
and staff members. Our special thanks also to all our partners as well
as alumni for their continued and strong support.
Tremendous opportunities lie ahead for Asia and hence AIT into the
coming years and to this end we are currently exploring different ways
in which the Institute can better sustain itself into the long-term
future. Such an exercise is of vital importance for the Institute given
the changing pattern of donor support and competitive landscape of
higher learning in the region and beyond. After 50 years of dedicated
service to the region, this is also an opportune occasion for all of us
to try and reflect and envision how best we can help contribute towards
AIT’s sustained and strong growth into the future.
In recognition of the hard work of all members of the AIT community, I
am pleased to announce that Thursday, 31 December 2009, will be an AIT
official holiday.
I wish every single member of the AIT community, a very happy New
Year, as well as relaxing time with their families for those who will
be going back to their homes. We also wish all members of our Christian
community and others celebrating this festive season a merry
Christmas.
I look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year and wish to
thank everyone once again for all their hard work and dedication to the
Institute.
Let us all usher in the New Year with a promise and commitment towards
a better and brighter future for AIT.”
