His appointment was approved at the meeting of the AIT Board of
Trustees held on 16 January 2014. The appointment shall be effective
from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2014. Professor Yamamoto will be
partially seconded to this position by the University of Tokyo, where
he currently and will continue to serve (40%) as Professor in its
Environmental Science Center, as well as Professor incharge of graduate
program, Department of Urban Engineering, Graduate School of
Engineering.
Prof. Yamamoto had served as Visiting Professor
and Senior Advisor to the AIT President from 7 October 2013- 31
December 2013 following his secondment by the Government of
Japan.
He joins Prof. Sivanappan Kumar and Prof. Kanchana Kanchanasut who are
also serving as Interim Vice Presidents. Earlier, Prof. Kumar was
appointed Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Prof.
Kanchana was made Interim Vice President for Research (VPR).
