Taiwan’s National Central University seeks partnership with AIT

The delegation, which included Prof. Wen-June Wang, Dean, CEECS and
Chair Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Timothy K
Shih, Prof. Wu-Yuin Hwang, and Dr. Chih-Lin Hu, proposed joint research
proposals and dual-degree programs. The delegation stated that the
National Central University was rated among the top-five universities
in Taiwan, and the CEECS is one of the seven colleges within the
University.

“We wish to explore areas of partnership between CEECS and AIT, and we
would be happy to receive exchange students from AIT,” Prof. Shih said.
He added that CEECS has a fair share of international students, and it
has partnered with 80 institutions and universities across 23
countries. Prof. Wang supported the idea of inviting AIT faculty for
short periods to facilitate partnership.

Prof. Kanchana Kanchanasut, Interim Vice President for Research, AIT,
while welcoming the delegation, stated that AIT would like to focus on
joint research proposals on areas of mutual interest. Prof. Voratas
Kachitvichyanukul, Interim Dean, School of Engineering and Technology
(SET); Dr. Manukid Parnichkun of Mechatronics field of study in SET;
and Ms. Wannapa Pliansri, Coordinator, External Relations and
Communications Office (ERCO) also participated in the deliberations.
The delegation also met Dr. Matthew Dailey of Computer Science and
Information Management (CSIM). They visited the CSIM laboratory and the
facilities at the Internet Education and Research Laboratory
(inTERlab).
