AIT chosen as lead organizer for 2015 International Congress on Logistics and SCM Systems in Chiang Mai, Thailand

The decision to opt for Thailand and AIT was made at the board meeting
of the International Federation of Logistics and SCM Systems (IFLS)
held in Pozan, Poland on July 2.

At the meeting chaired by Prof. Young-Hae Lee, Chairman of the IFLS,
Professor Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Dean of the AIT School of
Engineering and Technology, was chosen to serve as chairperson for next
year’s international conference.

According to Prof. Voratas, the 2015 Congress will emphasize
sustainability in logistics and manufacturing, and the effort to
improve supply chains using environmentally-friendly management
approaches.

Attendees will learn new ways to manage product quality, and
production system flexibility by collaborating with suppliers, dealers
and consumers for achieving improved manufacturing performance, he
explained.

Each year the Congress invites papers and successful industrial case
studies from researchers, educators, modelers, software developers,
users and practitioners in universities, industries and research
institutes.

Prof. Voratas emphasized that AIT will work closely with major Thai
universities to organize the event. He added that the organizing
committee would soon make an official announcement and call for
papers.

The ICLS Congress is sanctioned by the International Federation of
Logistics and SCM Systems. It aims to provide an international forum
for leading researchers, educators, and practitioners to discuss ideas
and exchange experiences on new developments, and enable opportunities
for collaboration on the latest implementation and enhancement of
sustainable logistics and supply chain systems.
