AIT exposes Sri Lanka Foundation to Thailand’s advanced supply chain management

Twenty-nine ministry and government officials, logistics experts, supply chain managers and academicians from Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) were exposed to advanced supply chain management practices in Thailand during a four-day long training program on “Strategic Supply Chain Management” organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 28 May – 1 June 2014.

QS delegation visits AIT

A delegation of Singapore-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia (Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa) headed by its CEO, Ms. Mandy Mok delivered a presentation at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 9 June 2014 and complimented the Institute on its internationality. Accompanied by Mr. Ashwin Fernandes, Head of Client Relations, QS Asia, Singapore Office, Ms. Mok stated that QS reviews almost 3000 universities every year out of which 800 are ranked, placing them in the top five per cent of all higher education institutes worldwide.

Talk on “Internal and External Strategies for Internationalisation” by QS Asia

A talk on “Internal and External Strategies for Internationalisation” will be delivered by Ms. Mandy Mok, CEO, QS Asia (Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa) at the *Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium” on 9 June 2014 from 10:00-11.30 hours.Ms. Mok's presentation will include QS Stars, alongside other strategies to improve AIT's performance and branding.

Presentation on autonomous underwater robot SAUVIM

A presentation on the autonomous underwater robot Semi-Autonomous Underwater Vehicle for Intervention Missions (SAUVIM) will be delivered by Prof. Song K. Choi, on 2 June 2014 at 1330 hours at the Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium. Prof Choi, is Assistant Dean, University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA.Abstract:“Autonomous manipulation” is a challenge in robotic technologies.

EU delegates meet Erasmus students

A delegation of the European Union held an informal interaction with students, staff and AIT faculty associated with EU’s Erasmus Mundus programs. Organized immediately after the 121st AIT Graduation Ceremony on 23 May 2014, senior EU officials sought feedback on their flagship educational program.

AIT student wins best student paper award

Continuing with the tradition of bagging honors, a student of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dong Nguyen has been awarded the Best Student Paper award by the West Coast Section of the Air and Water Management Association (AWMA) for its annual AWMA 2014 Conference. AIT students have consistently won this award, and Dong is eighth in line of his worthy predecessors.
