Anniversary of the First University Organizational Quarantine Facility in Thailand

Research Findings by AIT and UNEXE Offer Adaptation Strategies for Thai Farmers Relying on the ‘Mun’ River

September 8, 2021 -- The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in association with the University of Exeter (UNEXE) in the United Kingdom, held the final technical workshop of a research project on “ENRICH: ENhancing ResIlienCe to future Hydro-meteorological extremes in the Mun river basin in Northeast of Thailand” on Wednesday, 8 September 2021.  The project has assessed plausible future land use change and climate change scenarios in the Mun River basin and their combined impacts on future hydro-meteorological extremes.

The Fifth Batch of KURITA Scholarship Recipients Awarded in Virtual Event

September 21st, 2021 — Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) this year awarded the fifth batch of two outstanding students from Thailand and Sri Lanka in their pursuit of Masters’ Degrees at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

Regional Capacity Building on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 Enhanced Through RRC.AP Workshop

September 17, 2021 -- The Asian Institute of Technology’s Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) organized a virtual training workshop on “Capacity Development Program on Air Quality Management and Emission Reduction of PM2.5 for Asian Countries” from 13-17 September 2021. The workshop was attended by policymakers, air quality managers, technical staff working with pollution control agencies, and air quality professionals from various sectors to enhance their capacities for better management of air quality in Asian countries.

IoT Students Invented Device to Improve Social Distancing at Laundry Center

Internet of Things student, Mr. Sanjeev Shakya, together with his roommate and classmate at AIT School of Engineering and Technology have invented the Laundry Monitoring Service (LMS) from their dorm room. The cost-effective smart device can be attached to any traditional washing machines to alert its users when a laundry machine is available.
