Workshop on “Climate Change and Water Resources: Knowledge Gaps and Research Needs”

 Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) will be organizing a parallel workshop on “Climate Change and Water Resources: Knowledge Gaps and Research Needs” on 21 January 2014 from 1300-1730 hours at the Thailand Science Park Convention Center (TSPCC). Workshop on “Enhancing the groundwater management capacity in Asian cities through the development and application of groundwater sustainability index in the context of global change”

A major objective of this workshop is to share the knowledge of groundwater environment of selected cities; discuss on the framework of Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) and Groundwater Sustainability Index (GSII). The regional workshop is an activity planned under the project supported by Asia Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) and jointly implemented by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan; and International Research Center for River Basin Environment (ICRE), University of Yamanashi, Japan.

A seminar on "The NASA Land-Cover/Land-Use Change Program: Focus on Southeast Asia" will be delivered by Dr. Garik Gutman, Manager, The NASA Land-Cover/Land-Use Change Program, Landsat Program Scientist on 10 January 2014 from 1100-1200 hours at Room E220, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).The ICT-NASA Seminar will describe the goals of the Land-Cover/Land-Use Change (LCLUC) program.
