Bank of Thailand Governor Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul headlines ‘Friends of AIT Foundation’ special charity fundraiser

The “AIT Dinner Talk” by alumnus Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul on 25 September 2013 drew dignitaries from the government, corporate sector, academia and the media who packed a downtown Bangkok ballroom to listen to the Governor of Bank of Thailand (BOT) speak on the “Global Financial System and Challenges to Thailand.”

Innovation key to progress in Thailand: BOT Governor

Bank of Thailand Governor Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul made an impassioned plea for innovation as a key to progress in Thailand. Delivering a talk on the “Global Financial System and Challenges in Thailand” at the AIT Dinner Talk jointly organized by AIT and the AIT Alumni Association, Dr. Prasarn identified innovation, a more conducive environment for conducting business, and better quality education as the three fundamentals that could catapult Thailand on a path of greater progress.

Blood Donation Camp

The Thai Red Cross Society has been working with the volunteer students and staff of AIT to collect units of blood from the AIT community. The bloodmobile visits AIT every three months; four times a year, hoping to collect enough units to supply the constant demand for blood.

AIT student wins best paper award

A student of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has bagged the “Best Student Paper” award at the 3M Nano conference held at Suzhou, China. The conference on “Manipulation, Manufacturing and Measurement on the Nano Scale” saw Mr. Om Prakash Gujela, a Master’s student of the Mechatronics Field of Study in AIT’s School of Engineering and Technology (SET) receive the best paper award from Prof. Zuobin Wang of Changchun University of Science and Technology, China.
