Governance of global environmental change for sustainability

Building on principles of environmental policy and nature conservation, the concept of Earth System Governance puts these principles into a broader context of human-induced transformations of the entire earth system. Elaborating on Earth System Governance was Mr. Ruben Zondervan, its Executive Director, in a talk delivered at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 18 January 2012.

Mapping Disaster Evacuation and Relocation

While the events related to the triple disaster in Japan in March 2011 have been traumatic, post-disaster evacuation and relocation has been equally difficult. Mapping disaster evacuation and relocation, and narrating a first-hand account was Dr. Takashi Oda of Ochanomizu University, who delivered a talk on “Mapping the disaster evacuation and relocation” at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 17 January 2013.

AIT alumnus receives Giuseppe Pellizzi International award for doctoral thesis

Dr. Parish Nalavade, an alumnus of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been honored for his doctoral work, which he concluded at AIT. Dr. Parish was awarded the third prize in the inaugural edition of the “Giuseppe Pellizzi International Best PhD Prize” during the twenty-third annual meeting of the Club of Bologna held on 11 November 2012.
