Kurunegala Municipal Council Mayor compliments AIT for Low Carbon initiative

Mayor of Sri Lankan Kurunegala Municipal Council Hon. A. Gamini Peramunage complimented the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for initiating the Low Carbon Cities project in his city. In a progress review meeting organized at AIT, the Kurunegala Mayor stated that the program would increase exposure and understanding, while helping reduce the effect of carbon emissions. He also pledged support for execution of the AIT-driven program.

AIT’s 53rd anniversary

The fifth-third anniversary celebrations of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) will be organized at the AIT campus on 7-8 September 2012.Events include homecoming at the three schools, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), and School of Management (SOM). Details are available at this link.

Talk on ‘Understanding the road to real success’

 A talk on “Understanding the road to real success” will be delivered by Mr. Cyril Georgeson on 3 September 2012 at the AIT Conference Center at 1730 hours. The talk is being organized by the AIT Christian Fellowship (AITCF) in collaboration with Ravi Zacharia’s International Ministries (RZIM). About the speaker: Mr. Cyril, is the Chief Training Officer of RZIM (Ravi Zacharias International Ministries) Life Focus Society.

 A seminar on “Disaster Risk Management: Examples and Case Studies from Japan” will be organized on 3 September 2012 at the Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium from 1300-1500 hours. Organized by the Disaster Preparedness Mitigation and Management (DPMM) field of study, the seminar will feature three DPMM students Ms. Pham Thi Hong, Ms. Atrida Hadianti and Ms. Veronique Morin.
