Dr Pachauri to deliver lecture on “The state of climate science”

Nobel laureate Dr. Rajendra K Pachauri will deliver a video-conference lecture titled “The state of climate science” on 7 October 2011 from 1100 hours to 1230 hours. The lecture will be telecast at the Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).Dr. Pachauri, who is Chancellor of TERI University and Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), will be delivering the lecture as a part of the Institute wide course “Climate, Energy and Food Security in the Asia Pacific.

IRD delegation demonstrates interest in AIT

A delegation of Institute de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) has demonstrated interest in exploring partnership with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Led by Dr. Robert Arfi, Director of the Scientific Department “Living Resources and Environment”, IRD; the delegation comprised of country representatives of IRD in Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam and the IRD Asia Regional Coordinator in Thailand.

AIT President is a transformational leader: Pakistan Ambassador

Ambassador of Pakistan to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Sohail Mahmood, has described the President of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) as a “transformational leader,” who has done tremendous work at the Institute. The Ambassador made these remarks on 30 September 2011, on the occasion of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIT and the University of Veterinary and Animal Science (UVAS), Lahore, Pakistan.

Pakistan University signs agreement with AIT

Lahore based University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) has signed an agreement with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to strengthen inter-institutional relationship. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed on 30 September 2011, seeks to serve Pakistan and the region in the area of economic growth and sustainable development.

Universiti Teknologi Mara signs MoU with AIT

Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and looks forward towards sending students to AIT from the January 2012 session. The MoU, which was signed on 27 September 2011 by the Vice Chancellor of UiTM, Dato’ Prof Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar, and the AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust, seeks to foster cooperation between the two.
