Global Water Partnership lauds AIT

The steering committee of the Global Water Partnership South East Asia ( GWP SEA) lauded the role of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and sought to strengthen its partnership with the Institute. The steering committee along with representatives of the Thai Water Partnership (TWP) visited AIT on 20 September 2011 to acquaint themselves with new developments at AIT, particularly the activities in the water sector.

Uzbek troupe enthralls AIT

Lilting melodies and graceful movements set to the tune of traditional folk instruments and the rhythmic drum beat marked the twentieth anniversary celebrations of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the famous Bukhara troupe from Uzbekistan kept a captive audience at AIT’s Conference Center auditorium spellbound for over an hour.

Monsoon Marathon

The eleventh Monsoon Marathon will be organized at the AIT International School on 22 September 2011 from 8.00 am onwards. The theme of this years marathon is “ Run for Health – Run for a Cause.”More details can be found at this link.

Uzbek classical song and music performance

A classical song and music performance will be presented by Bukhara Group from Uzbekistan on 20 September 2011 from 18.30 t 20.00 hours at the AIT Conference Center Auditorium. The event is jointly organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan at Bangkok, along with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The event commemorates twentieth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Karnataka officials train in AIT on rural development

Rural development officials from the Indian province of Karnataka joined a customized training program on “Managing Rural Development” at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Speaking at the inaugural program, Prof. Jayant Kumar Routray, coordinator, Regional and Rural Development Planning (RRDP) and Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management (DPMM) field of study at AIT remarked that Thailand had a lot of lessons to offer in the field of rural development.
