Green AIT Day salutes its International character

The international character of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was very much in focus on the occasion of the ‘Green AIT Day’ organized on 19 November 2010. Over 150 students from nearly three dozen countries planted trees on behalf of their country – a act that was in line with AIT’s image of being a ‘Clean and Green Campus’.

AIT Greening Day will be organized by the AIT Students Union on 19 November 2010. One tree shall be planted for each country represented at AIT. Students Union has procured saplings of the tree “Lagerstoemla Speclosa” or “Pride of India” for plantation.

Seminar on tsunami in Indonesia

Mr. Clinton Smith, who participated as a volunteer of Téléoms Sans Frontière (TSF), following the tsunami in Indonesia shall be delivering a seminar on 25 October 2010. ARCMDG joins working group for first “ASEAN Statistical Report on MDGs Indicators”

Ten years after all ASEAN leaders and the bulk of the world’s international organizations signed the United Nations Millennium Declaration on 8 September 2000, a workshop was recently held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta to discuss the advantages of a regular statistical report on ASEAN’s progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
