Associate Professor Dr. Kunnawee Kanitpong, director of the Thailand Accident Research Center (TARC) and faculty member in the Transportation Engineering program at the Asian Institute of Technology, advises holidaymakers in Thailand to avoid speeding during and after New Year’s.
Studies by TARC show that the maximum safe speed for motorcycles is 80 km/h, while cars should maintain a speed of 100 km/h or lower on the nation’s highways.

Since January of 2020, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has spread across the world. By the end of the year, the situation in Thailand has turned from being stable for several months in Summer and Fall to having new outbreaks in December.
AIT received a total of THB 150,000 from GTE alumni to support the Geotechnical and Earth Resources Engineering laboratory. The donations will be used for student research in the GTE laboratory.
According to Dr. Eden Woon, AIT President, these donations from GTE alumni will enable AIT faculty members and students to do their research using efficient lab equipment and provide higher quality research output.
AIT received a total of THB 264,000 from Associate Professor Dr. Suvit Saetia and Alumni Friends for upgrading the AIT Digital Media Lab.
With this contribution, AIT students, faculty, and staff will be able to use more efficient digital media equipment and software to support their various purposes ranging from developing materials for online promotional activities to student research documentation to educational content for online or hybrid teaching.
