Asian Institute Technology in Vietnam (AITVN) unveils new home in Can Tho

Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AITVN) unveiled the new AIT-Vietnam office and classroom facilities located on the campus of the Can Tho University (CTU) on 10 September 2010. Speaking on the occasion, the AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust remarked that the event is a testimony of 17 years of strong and sustained partnership between the Government of Vietnam and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

Six AIT students receive DAAD scholarship certificates

Six students from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) were awarded Deutscher Akademishcher Austausch Dienst (DAAD) scholarship certificates by Dr. Carolin Mülverstedt , Director of DAAD Information Center Bangkok and Mr. Marco Merten, Third Secretary, Press and Cultural Affairs, German Embassy in Bangkok. They were awarded the certificate at the Germany Embassy in Bangkok on 10 September 2010.

Seminar on “Biomedical applications of bacterial cellulose and self-assembled nanogels”

Dr. Francisco Miguel Portela da Gama of the University of Minho, Portugal will deliver a seminar on “Biomedical applications of bacterial cellulose and self-assembled nanogels," on 10 September 2010 at 2.00 pm. Organized by the Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology (CoEN), the seminar will be held in Room 102, at the Outreach Building at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).Abstract:Bacterial cellulose is a biomaterial with excellent mechanical properties, high water holding ability that can be produced with a pre-defined shape like tubular structures.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presides over launch of Friends of AIT Heritage (FAITH) Foundation

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 7 September 2010 presided over the launch of the Friends of AIT Heritage (FAITH) Foundation at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The official launch of the Foundation took place during AIT’s 51st Anniversary celebration. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn spoke as the Patron of the AIT Fundraising Campaign.
