Bhutan explores AIT’s Habitech building technology

H.E. Mr. Dorji Wangdi, Minister of Labour and Human Resources, Government of Bhutan, has expressed keenness in using the building technology created by Habitech Center of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in large construction projects in Bhutan. While visiting AIT on 7 August 2010, the Minister stated that AIT’s Habitech Center could positively contribute and support capacity development in the construction sector of Bhutan.

HITEC University keen to explore joint degree program with AIT

HITEC University, Taxila, Pakistan is keen to explore joint degree programs with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).The University also desires graduate students exchange program and faculty exchange, apart from mutual research programs. This was stated by Dr. Jameel Ahmed, Chairman of the Deparment of Electrical Engineering, HITECH University during his recent visit to AIT.

Resource Development (VPRD), Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai congratulated Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul, a distinguished AIT alumnus, on his appointment as the Governor of the Bank of Thailand.

AIT student participates in UN Disaster training program

Mr. Clinton John Smith, a student at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and a volunteer at Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF), has just concluded a training program for team members of the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC). The training, which was held from 26 to 30 July 2010 in Port Dickson, Malaysia seeks to train UN emergency responders from the Asia-Pacific.

Results Based Management Familiarization Workshop

A Results Based Management (RBM) familiarization workshop is being organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) by the AIT Research Strategy Development Project.  The broad objectives of this familiarization workshop are: 1) To familiarize faculty and staff of the technicalities in RBM so that they can contribute significantly in the research strategy development process .2) To enable faculty and staff to adopt RBM processes in other endeavors in the future.
