“World is in midst of an Optical revolution”

The World is in the midst of an optical revolution with a huge demand for optical engineers. While the US has 700,000 electrical engineers and 600,000 mechanical engineers, it only has 60,000 optical engineers. Enumerating the huge demand for people in optical sciences, Dr. Robert P. Breault, Chairman of the Board of Breault Research Organization (BRO) stated that the biosciences industry will boost the demand even further. “There are simply not enough optical engineers to conduct the required research”, Dr Breault remarked while addressing a gathering at the Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology at AIT.

Dr. Bindu N. Lohani, distinguished AIT alumnus and Vice-President (Finance and Administration) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will deliver an extramural lecture at AIT on the topic “Key Issues for a Successful Copenhagen Climate Change Summit: The Role of Emerging Countries in Asia and the Role of AIT” on Monday, 7 September 2009 between 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the Milton E. Bender Jr. Auditorium.

Dr. Gutierrez earned his medical degree and a master's degree in health management from the University of Mexico.  He also earned a master's degree in health finance from Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the McDonough School of Business of Georgetown University.
