HKUST’s Prof. Li Zexiang, Chairman of DJI, headlines AIT Entrepreneurship Center’s 1st Anniversary Celebration

Inaugurated last year to foster an entrepreneurship spirit and galvanize the innovation activities of AIT’s students and faculty, the AIT Entrepreneurship Center (AITEC) marked its first year with a master class international lecture on 28 September 2020.

Professor Li Zexiang of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Chairman of DJI, the renowned drone maker, headlined AITEC’s third Distinguished Entrepreneur Talk Series event by addressing a virtual audience on the topic of “From Labs to Startups: Reinventing Engineering Education.

AIT contributes to prepare a Policy Brief on “Applying sanitation value chain approach towards appropriate wastewater and faecal sludge management in Thailand”

For past 2 years AIT has jointly worked with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) on a project titled “Policy Dialogue and Network Building of Multi-stakeholders on integrated Decentralized Domestic Wastewater Management in ASEAN Countries”. As part of our commitment AIT team has worked on the Policy Brief - to elaborate on the barriers and provide policy recommendation towards appropriate wastewater and feacal sludge management in Thailand.

AIT, Van Lang University, Vietnam ink agreements to launch International Bachelor’s-Master’s Unified Program and PhD Scholars Program

Two months after signing a general Memorandum of Understanding, AIT and Vietnam’s Van Lang University (VLU) on 30 September 2020 signed two specific cooperation agreements for VLU to send faculty to earn Doctoral degrees at AIT, and to join the International Bachelor’s-Master’s Unified Program.

AIT and UNESCO sign MoU for Mutual Cooperation

The Asian Institute of Technology on 29 September 2020 signed an official Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at a ceremony in Bangkok.

During the MoU signing ceremony, Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, Director of the UNESCO Regional Education Bureau in Asia Pacific in Bangkok, expressed his happiness to sign the partnership instrument with AIT for future collaboration and mentioned some of the areas where UNESCO and AIT could collaborate.

This is precisely the story of Ir Tan Chin Nyan, a very successful Malaysian structural engineer who was once a young boy in a poor family but now holds the position of Managing Director of Bridgex Bina Sdn Bhd (now known as BBSB Holdings Sdn Bhd), one of Malaysia’s leading civil engineering firms.

Dr. Yuosre Badir from School of Management contributed his knowledge for the publication of a book for designing ideal tropical houses

Associate Professor Dr. Yuosre Badir, Director of Doctoral Programs (PhD and DBA) in AIT School of Management, teamed up with experts and contributed to the book named Maisons tropicales - concevoir une maison bioclimatique, sure, confortable, economique et respectueuse de l'environnement (English Translation: Tropical houses - design a bioclimatic, safe, comfortable, economical and environmentally friendly house). The book was published in France in March 2020.

The book was produced for ETIK2A (http://etik2a.org/), a French non-profit organization that focuses on ethical issues in developing a green and sustainable environment.
