09-11 November 2008: “Near-roadway and on-road exposures to air pollution: risk communication and decision making” workshop

The East-West Center (EWC), Honolulu and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok will co-organize the international workshop on “Near-roadway and on-road exposures to air pollution: risk communication and decision making”. This is a pre-event of the Better Air Quality 2008 workshop organized by the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities Partnership (CAI-Asia). The workshop will be held on 9-11 November, 2008, at the AITCC, Bangkok.

AIT welcomes new Sida representative

Ms. Gunilla Eitrem, Senior Programme Officer,
Environment Policy Division, Department for Natural Resources and the
Environment of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency
(SIDA), Stockholm visited AIT on 04 November 2008. Ms. Gunilla Eitrem
was recently deployed as AIT’s new contact person for Sida, Stockholm.

3-4 November 2008: CSR Asia Summit 2008

CSR Asia is joining forces with the Asian Institutue of Technology (AIT) to stage the upcoming CSR Asia Summit 2008 from 3-4 November 2008 to be held at AIT in Thailand. The theme for the CSR Asia Summit 2008 will be "CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility): The next agenda – Pushing the boundaries of environmental and social responsibility". The conference is gearing up to be the most innovative and challenging event on CSR in Asia this year with over 250 delegates and 50 speakers.

Students Attend SATU Youth Forum

In conjunction with the Southeast and South Asia and Taiwan
Universities (SATU) Presidents' Forum, the first SATU
2008 Youth Forum took place at the National Cheng
Kung University (NCKU) from 9-12 November 2008.
This Youth Forum aims to encourage students to think outside of the box
and empower them to speak out and be heard.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and the
Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) have agreed
to a five-year partnership agreement designed to strengthen Thailand’s
computer software industry and enhance its long-term competitiveness as
a regional technology hub.
