SET reports upward results

The Dean of the School of Engineering (SET), Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, recently unveiled a report on some of the School’s performance indicators and goals for the coming years. The report indicated that SET’s August 2007 student intake was up almost 60% over the previous year.

AARM-AIT project “Sustainable Aquaculture Research Networks in Sub-Saharan Africa” secures EU-FP7 funding

Congratulations to Dr. Ram C. Bhujel, Affiliated Faculty, in the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) Field whose proposal submitted under the EU-FP7 Programme has been selected for funding. The 36-month project entitled "Sustainable Aquaculture Research Networks in Sub-Saharan Africa - (SARNISSA)" will start in January 2008, and be coordinated by the University of Stirling, UK, with AARM-AIT, as one of the key partners in the project.

19 October: ‘Children of the World’ gala concert

The AIT-Golden Jubilee Fundraising Campaign (GJFC) and the AIT Community School are organizing a gala concert "Children of the World" based on the theme of the U.N. day to  be held on the 19th of October, 2007 at the AIT Centre Auditorium at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets  for the show are being sold by Ms. Lucena D. Talaid, who can be contacted at (02)524-6316 ,  and at the AIT Community School (AITCS), Ms. Nerja - 02 524-5899;  Ms. Nwe Nwe - 02  524-6171 or at AITCS office - 02 524-5984. The proceeds from the tickets will be given by  GJFC to the AIT Community School.

New AIT Charter approved

The final version of the AIT Charter, which was earlier approved by the AIT Board of Trustees, has been officially submitted by Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of the Board, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand. AIT President Said Irandoust, on behalf of AIT, expresses appreciation and gratitude to all AIT partners for their continued and strong support to the Institute, and to AIT Board Chairman, for the instrumental role he has played in the entire process.

AIT Alumni Association, Thailand Chapter, to contribute to renovation of AIT Library

The AIT Alumni Association (AITAA), Thailand Chapter, has expressed interest in providing some financial contribution for the renovation of the AIT Library. Through this contribution the Thai Chapter wishes to express its gratitude to the Institute, and the AIT Library in particular, which served as an important resource during their students days at AIT. Professor Tawatchai Tingsanchali, Chair of the AIT Library Committee, has been in contact with Dr. Anusorn Sangnimnuan (EV'80), President of the AITAA Thailand Chapter President, who is also the President of the Bangchak Petroleum Public Co. Ltd.
