AIT recently welcomed some alumni who returned to the Institute. On 23 August 2007, Mr. Babu Ram Shrestha, Executive Director of the Local Development Training Academy (LDTA), Nepal, visited AIT and met with the Vice President of Development and Resources, the Director of AIT Extension, and key faculty members in the fields of Gender and Development, the Urban Environment Program and the Regional and Rural Development Program.

The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) welcomes three visiting Faculty - Dr. D.C. Saxena, Dr. Roongruang Kalasirisilp, Dr. Ambika P. Gautam who recently joined AIT.

Dr. D.C. Saxena, Assistant Professor at Department of Food Technology, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal, India, joined AIT as a visiting faculty in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology, seconded by the Indian government for the August 2007 semester.

Updates on laptops for new students

Through further negotiation with SVOA, AIT has been able to obtain better CPUs for the SVOA laptop. Instead of the CPU Intel Core T2350 1.86GHz processor announced earlier, the laptop will come with the CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 1.6GHz processor.
