AIT Landmark construction by Alumni approved
AIT President Said Irandoust, along with members of the Campus Planning and Environment Committee, recently met with representatives from the AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) Mother Chapter to discuss the proposal for the construction of an AIT Landmark by the AITAA, as part of AIT's 50th Anniversary Celebrations.

Prof. Peter Haddawy, Vice President for Academic Affairs recently announced the launch of the AIT Academic Affairs website: www.ait.ac.th/vpaa. In this website, users can find policies, documents, reports, and concept papers related to academic programs, quality assurance, faculty development, admissions, financial management, and various other aspects of academic affairs at AIT. The website will be updated regularly with news on the latest developments.
VPAA participates in UNU-UNESCO International Conference on Pathways Towards a Shared Future
Professor Peter Haddawy, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), this week was invited to participate in the UNU-UNESCO International Conference on Pathways Towards a Shared Future, held from 29-30 August in Tokyo, Japan.
Follow-up on AIT/UNITAR ASEAN Regional Round Table on MDGs
Professor Vilas Wuwongse, Vice President for External Relations recently met with Mr. Nico Barito, Senior Fellow, UNITAR (also member of the AIT Center in Indonesia Steering Committee and AIT Institute-level Advisory Board) to follow-up on the proposal for the hosting of a Regional Round Table for ASEAN Countries at AIT on MDG Education and Training.
MN National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India, interested to collaborate with AIT on several aspects
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (MN NIT Allahabad), which ranks among the top 15 institutes in India, has expressed strong interest in collaboration with AIT in mutual research and consultancy, joint supervision and exchange of students and faculty, as well as through a two-stage master' s program.
AIT welcomes alumni from Nepal
AIT recently welcomed some alumni who returned to the Institute. On 23 August 2007, Mr. Babu Ram Shrestha, Executive Director of the Local Development Training Academy (LDTA), Nepal, visited AIT and met with the Vice President of Development and Resources, the Director of AIT Extension, and key faculty members in the fields of Gender and Development, the Urban Environment Program and the Regional and Rural Development Program.
Professor Lalit M. Johri appointed as a Fellow in International Business by Oxford University
Congratulations to Professor Lalit M. Johri, faculty member in the School of Management (SOM), who has been appointed as a Fellow in International Business by Oxford University.
SERD welcomes visiting faculty
The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) welcomes three visiting Faculty - Dr. D.C. Saxena, Dr. Roongruang Kalasirisilp, Dr. Ambika P. Gautam who recently joined AIT.
Dr. D.C. Saxena, Assistant Professor at Department of Food Technology, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal, India, joined AIT as a visiting faculty in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology, seconded by the Indian government for the August 2007 semester.

Updates on laptops for new students
Through further negotiation with SVOA, AIT has been able to obtain better CPUs for the SVOA laptop. Instead of the CPU Intel Core T2350 1.86GHz processor announced earlier, the laptop will come with the CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 1.6GHz processor.
