AIT President shares strategy to overcome the “Perfect Storm” with leaders from renowned Malaysian universities at MyIDC Forum

24 February 2022 — Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) President Dr. Eden Woon was invited to share his insights and experiences for the training of leaders from Malaysian Universities in ‘International Dean’s Course — Malaysian Chapter (MyIDC) Module 11: Internationalization’. Through his speech, the President highlighted ‘internationalization’ as a strategy to sail through the “perfect storm”.

The MyIDC hybrid event, held in a hybrid mode from February 19th to February 26th, was a seven-day training to equip leaders in academic with innovative ideas for strategic management and decision-making processes, as well as transferable skills to respond to changes in higher education.

The Asian Institute of Technology’s (AIT) Master’s student in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCSD) program, Reeshika Rai, shares how her internship at one of the world’s leading petrochemical producers, Indorama Ventures, has exposed her to “another dimension of sustainability”.

Indorama Ventures was established in Thailand in the year 1994. It is the world's largest producer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins, offering variety of petrochemical products including feedstock, PET, Packaging, Fibers and recycled products.

AIT Scholarships for Afghan Female Students: Providing Education Opportunities in an Uncertain Time

Bangkok, March 8, 2022 – For the Spring Semester starting in January, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) initiated scholarships for master’s program that will allow four female students from Afghanistan to obtain an education at AIT.  AIT, the generous donors of these scholarships, and the student recipients are all contributing to the goal of the International Women’s Day 2022:  Break the Bias.

February 25, 2022 -- A lifetime contributor to helping refugees and migrants resettle in New Zealand and an Industrial Engineering and Management alumnus of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), George Arulanantham, once again received one of the highest achievements and was appointed as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM). From working as an engineer to being recognized for his service to the community, Arulanantham spoke of AIT as a place that has opened many doors.
