AIT and Chalmers University, Sweden, jointly develop a proposal for collaboration in geo-engineering education

AIT in partnership with Chalmers University, Sweden is currently developing a proposal for collaboration in the area of geo-engineering (which could also be expanded to water engineering). Many of the geotechnical and foundation problems encountered in the lowlands in Southeast Asia are similar to those dealt with in Sweden, due in part to similar geological conditions.

Congratulations to an AIT alumnus Dr. Anote Chanopas and co-authors Dr. Donyaprueth Krarit and Dr. Do Ba Khang, whose paper entitled 'Managing Information Technology Infrastructure: A New Flexibility Framework' has been selected as a Highly Commended Winner at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2007. The paper was published in the Management Research News.

NECTEC and AIT to sign an MoA on Academic Cooperation in Automotive Electronics

Realizing the importance of research development in automotive electronics technology, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) agreed to establish foundations for development of new technology and to prepare human resources in this field toward further development of research in commercial industries.

‘C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ selects Waste Concern in Bangladesh as case study
‘Waste Concern’, a pioneering CDM-based compost project in Bangladesh headed by two AIT alumni Mr. Maqsood Sinha and Mr. Iftekhar Enayetullah, has been selected as a case study for the `C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ to be held 14-17 May 2007 in New York City, USA. Waste Concern was established by Mr. Sinha after graduating from AIT in 1993. Over the years the organization has received numerous international awards including the one by Mr. Kofi Anan on behalf of UNDP. The second `C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ will gather leaders of municipal governments and international businesses from over thirty world cities in New York City.
