SU Campus and Environment Committee reports

The Student Union Campus and Environment Committee informed the AIT community of some steps that the committee has taken for the better interest of the residents and the students. The following activities have been implemented:

Installation of complaint/suggestion box - To keep the SU Campus and Environment Committee informed about certain facts which the committee has missed or needs attention, a number of complaint/suggestion box are installed in different places.

Swimming pool closed half hour earlier

The Safety, Security and Sports Unit announced that due to inclement weather condition these days, the swimming pool will be closed at 6:30 p.m., a half hour earlier than the regular 7 p.m. The new swimming pool schedule is from 6 a.m. to 6:30 pm which will be implemented until further notice.

IBM provides software, training

Ms. Jadesada Kraisingkorn, country manager, Software Group, IBM Thailand, and AIT President Said Irandoust shake hands after an agreement in which IBM will provide software and training to AIT students and faculty.

TV news features AIT forest project

Malama TV, a network in America Samoa, featured the forest monitoring project of AIT faculty member, Dr. Edward L. Webb, and associate professor of Natural Resources Management at the School of Environment, Resources and Development.

Dr. Pichai Nimityongskul (left) and Dr. Thammanoon Hengsadeekul will be honored at a conference in Venezuela.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will present awards to an associate professor and an AIT alumnus on 23 October 2006 in Caracas, Venezuela.

Agreement set to build capacity in Nepal

On 10th October 2006, AIT signed an agreement with the National Center for Education Development (NCED), Government of Nepal. The memorandum of understanding establishes an institutional link between NCED and AIT (AIT Extension) that will support capacity building through the sharing of expertise.
