International Conference on intelligent systems & networks

From 23-25 February 2007, The Centre for Advanced Technology (CAT), Haryana Engineering College (HEC), and Jagadhari—135003 (Haryana), India, will organize an International Conference on Intelligent Systems & Networks – IISN 2007.

The conference aims to bring the researchers working in intelligent systems, soft computing, intelligent networks and other related areas under one umbrella to enable exchange of ideas and interaction between them for the advancement of this field of science and technology.

The University Support to Environmental Planning and Management project (USEPAM – http://www.usepam.ait.ac.th)
at Regional and Rural Development Program, School of Environment, Resources and Development will organize a regional conference on 'Environmental Planning and Management in Southeast Asian Countries' in Hanoi, Vietnam, during 6-8 March 2007.

The specific objectives of the conference are: 1) to facilitate the exchange of experiences gained in and lessons learned from regionally coordinated capacity building projects implemented for strengthening multidisciplinary curricula, outreach activities and applied research capacity in the area of environmental planning and management amongst academicians, policymakers, planners and international development agencies in the region who are carrying out same or similar projects; 2) to provide a forum to researchers as well as planners and policymakers for presenting results of and methodological experiences in research projects; for sharing lessons learned through implementation of environmental management policies; for discussing the policy implications of the findings of the research projects; and for seeking policy oriented research issues.

On Wednesday, 20 September, the launching of AIT’s School of Management’s new program – Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) was published in Financial Times, a Sri Lankan Newspaper, after the launching ceremony held at Mt. Lavinia hotel, Sri Lanka on 18 September 2006.SOM’s DBA program is for senior professional managers/administrators and is intended to create a body of knowledge embedded in practice.

On 11 September 2006, H.E. Mr. Laurent Aublin, Ambassador of France to Thailand and Chairman of AIT's Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees and Prof. Said Irandoust, AIT President, signed an agreement between the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Asian Institute of Technology for a France/AIT Programme of Joint Research Projects for Scientific Development in the ASEAN called France / AIT Network.
