AIT opens Nanotechnology Center of Excellence, laboratory
A ceremony today marked the opening of a Nanotechnology Center of Excellence at the Asian Institute of Technology focusing on the application of nanoparticles. The center is jointly supported by Thailand’s National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency, Ministry of Science and Technology and AIT.
The occasion also officially opened AIT’s nanotechnology laboratory.

Travel insurance handled by on-campus agency
The personal accident insurance for all official travels of faculty and staff members as well as students for period of up to 30 days will now be processed directly by AIT's on-campus travel agency, KS & S, upon issuing of air tickets.
Library allows self-renewal
AIT Library recently started Self Renew function by accessing the 'View Your Record' Web page from the Library homepage (http://www.library.ait.ac.th) or Library search page (http://library.ait.ac.th).
With this function, the users can renew library materials that they have borrowed from their computer at school, dormitory or elsewhere.
Summer internship available at UNESCAP
AIT graduating students are welcomed to join the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) internship program.
A Web programmer internship is available for graduating students who wish to gain practical work experience by actually working with UNESCAP as a volunteer for a few months before graduating.
Post office changes mean one motorbike on campus
Through the initiative of the General Services Unit, the Khlong Luang Post Of fice has agreed to directly deliver AIT's incoming mails to the campus every day instead of picking them up by the AIT Post Office staff.
HRH Princess to preside over 24 May graduation
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the Asian Institute of Technology's 105th graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 24 May 2006. It is the first time Her Royal Highness will confer degrees at an international postgraduate institution.
Former AIT professor receives Massey-Ferguson award
Prof. Gajendra Singh, former dean of AIT Extension and longtime AIT faculty is the recipient of the 2006 Massey-Ferguson Educational Award in recognition of his outstanding dedication and contributions as a highly effective leader and teacher of agricultural engineering.
