Graduation schedule revised

The 105th AIT Graduation Ceremony on 24 May 2006 will be held at the Thailand Science Park Convention Center located behind AIT's campus.

In view of the change in venue, a slight adjustment in schedules is as follows:

On 10 May at 1 p.m., the Doctoral Progress Review Committee (DPRC) progress meeting will be held at Room 210, Administration Building.

The External Relations and Communications Office has initiated efforts for AIT to tap the African market. In its initiation, the ERCO invited Dr. Roland Amoussou Guenou of the School of Management to present his ideas about the role of AIT in Africa.

Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research provided more updates on the AIT Masters Thesis Competition – May 2006 as follows:

Mr. Ashok Ghosh, the President of J.K.Cements, one of the largest cement companies in India and part of the Singhania Group of companies, during his recent visit to AIT agreed to sponsor the competition.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, a nonprofit foundation established by the Federal Republic of Germany for the promotion of international research cooperation, is offering scholarship programmes for applicants from outside Germany, as follows:

Humboldt Research Fellowships for highly qualified, foreign scientists and scholars of all nationalities and disciplines holding doctorates, aged up to 40, from abroad for a long-term research stay in Germany (up to 600 fellowships per annum).

Georg Forster Research Fellowships for highly qualified scholars from developing countries, aged up to 45, for a long-term research stay in Germany (up to 60 fellowships per annum).

Special holidays mark King's 60th anniversary

In cerebration of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand's Accession to the Throne, the Office of the Permanent Secretary, The Prime Minister's Office declared that Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 June 2006, are the official holidays only in Bangkok and greater areas which include the provinces of Nonthaburi, Nakornpathom, Pathumthani and Samutprakan.
