Two new shops are opening in the arcade. An ice cream and cocktail bar opens, at 6 p.m. 28 April 2006. The bar provides a cozy and relaxing environment where one can enjoy soft music while having some refreshment (drinks, ice cream or snacks) with friends.

Dr. H. L. Tien, head of Infrastructure, urges the AIT community to help save AIT energy. On the average AIT spends more than 2 million baht on electricity every month, excluding the amount consumed by the residents and concessions.

Dr. H. L. Tien, head of Infrastructure, informs the AIT community the standard operating procedure pertaining to requests to access of closed offices or classrooms is that the security guard on duty will ask the name and other pertinent information of the requesting individual for recording purposes.

Medical clinic reduces services, hours

As of 1 May 2006 the AIT medical clinic will cease offering its psychiatric clinic and cut back its hours.

The service hours of nurses will be as follows: working days 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.; holidays 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

As a result, there will be no service of the AIT clinic from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on working days and until 7 a.m. on holidays.

Buffet lunch served twice a week

Buffet lunch served twice a week

Due to insistent demand and the growing number of guests to the AIT Conference Center buffet lunch, the frequency of the buffet has been increased to twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, starting 25 April 2006. Therefore, the Special Noodle Corner, which used to be scheduled on Tuesdays, has been discontinued.

Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research provided more updates on the AIT Masters Thesis Competition – May 2006 as follows:

Mr. Ashok Ghosh, the President of J.K.Cements, one of the largest cement companies in India and part of the Singhania Group of companies, during his recent visit to AIT agreed to sponsor the competition.
