Switch to new server means downtime
ITServ will replace the existing hosting server (stweb.ait.ac.th, a.k.a. staff.ait.ac.th, faculty.ait.ac.th) on Thursday, 23 March 23 at 5 p.m. This operation is expected to take about one hour.
During that time, student, staff and faculty personal home pages as well as the Web sites this server hosts will be unreachable.
External relations office outlines new initiatives
The External Relations and Communications Office is striving to become a resourceful, supportive service and networking office by driving the internal and external relations strategies of AIT and to be able to respond to the changing demand of AIT and its partners through public relations, communications and partnerships management activities.
Administration continues field of study visits
Starting from early this year the president and vice presidents have started visiting fields of study to meet with the faculty, staff and student representatives and to learn more about the ongoing activities plans for the future and to also discuss other issues in general.
AIT welcomes Maldives delegation
On 14 March 2006, Mr. Mohamed Fahmy Hassan (seated 2nd from left), director of the Department of Higher Education and Training, Ministry of Higher Education, Employment and Social Security, Maldives visited AIT to explore a partnership.
The Bridge Fund delegation visits AIT
A delegation from the United States organization, The Bridge Fund, visited AIT on 22 February 2006 to explore further collaboration.
The organization maintains a focus on nomadic and semi-nomadic populations that are most disadvantaged and least served.
Workshop could address project proposal preparation
Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research, is planning to organize a one or two day workshop for the AIT community to learn more about ways to prepare project proposals in a professional manner.
Alumni association announces research grants for master's students
The AIT Alumni Association Research Grant is supplemental to available funds at AIT enabling students to return to their home country to work on problems of national importance.
The association will provide partial financial support to three students, one from each school per year.
Doctoral students may apply for conference grants
The AIT Alumni Association sponsors doctoral students to attend international conferences. The aims are to promote interest in sharing of knowledge and experience and to project the AIT image in research.
Expressions of interest sought
A call for Expression of Interest from lead institutions for a project on 'Analysis of River Basin Water Productivity and its Relationship to Poverty.'
Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research, announced a 'Call for Expression of Interest' from lead institutions for a project on: 'Analysis of River Basin Water Productivity and its Relationship to Poverty,' which was brought to his notice by Dr. Bernadette Resurreccion of Gender & Development Studies field of study, School of Environment, Resources and Development.
Harvard award honors environmental partnerships
The Roy Family Award was established by the Environment and Natural Resources Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government to recognize public-private partnerships that have attained exemplary achievements in the area of environmental protection and natural resources conservation.
