Dr. Yang Yi to head Asian Fisheries Society

Congratulations to Dr. Yang Yi, Coordinator of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) FoS/SERD for being elected as the President of the Asian Fisheries Society (AFS) for a three year term, starting Nov 2007. The election was conducted by the AFS councilors during the 30th council meeting held in Bangalore, India on 7-8 Nov 2005.

The recognition by this society formed in 1984 - with over 2,800 scientists from 75 countries and territories - is a testimony of his dedicated service.

Prof. Ram M. Shrestha Reappointed Energy Associate Editor

In recognition of his 'exceptional expertise', Professor Ram M. Shrestha (SERD-Energy), who is completing a three-year term as Associate Editor of Energy - the International Journal, has been invited by Professor Noam Lior, the Editor-in-Chief of Energy to continue for a second three-year term.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn grants Royal Audience to AIT students
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 15 November at Chitralada Palace, graciously granted a Royal Audience to 24 AIT students who are recipients of HM the King's and HM the Queen's scholarships for the academic year 2004-2005.

On 4 November 2005, Dr. Si-Chen Lee (above, seated left), National Taiwan University (NTU) President and delegation accompanied by Dr. Karl Kuan Hua Lee, officer from Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Thailand met Prof. Said Irandoust (above, seated right), AIT President.
