Irandoust appoints new VPs
Prof. Said Irandoust, AIT President, recently announced the appointment of three new vice presidents (VPs). Appointed were as follows: Professor Peter Haddawy as VP for Education, Professor Sudip K. Rakshit as VP for Research and Professor Vilas Wuwongse and Professor Khin Ni Ni Thein as VP for External Relations.

Welcome
The School of Environment, Resources and Development welcomes Dr. Binod B. Sandwar, from India as Visiting Lecturer in the Environmental Engineering and Management Field of Study.
Dr. Sandwar (right) received his Ph.D (Chemistry) from the L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga in 1997, and has served as Reader in Chemistry, Samastipur College, Samastipur (Bihar), India, since 1983. He also worked for nearly three years as In-charge of the Central Laboratory, Bihar State Pollution Control Board, Patna (Bihar), India.

'Rebirth for Gaia…' bags top award in AIT Welcome Show
'Rebirth for Gaia: Ancient Call for the Modern Time', a performance presented by a pool of talented new students of the Urban Environmental Management Field of Study (UEM FoS) from the Asian Institute of Technology's School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) dominated the country group performance in the recently concluded AIT Welcome Show held at the AIT Conference Center (AITCC) on 17 September 2005. AITAA Doctoral Conference Participation Grant
Purpose…
The AITAA sponsors doctoral students to attend International Conferences. The aims are to promote interest in sharing of knowledge and experience, and to project the AIT image in research.
First Policy Dialog in Solid Waste Management at AIT
The CIDA-AIT Partnership (2003-2008) SEA-UEMA Project of UEM Field of Study held its First Policy Dialog on Strategic Solid Waste Management in Pathumthani Province on August 25-26, 2005 at the AIT Conference Center.
