SERD, SCE holds Appreciation Day
Faculty, students, and staff members of the School of Environment, Resources and
Development (SERD) and the School of Civil Engineering (SCE), and invited guests
gathered to congratulate its faculty members who were promoted and expressed their appreciation to retiring faculty and staff members at the SERD/SCE Appreciation Day dinner held on 22 April 2005.

On 26 April 2005, H. E. Mr. Ralph L. Boyce, Jr. (above left), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Embassy of the United States of America to Thailand visited AIT. During the visit H.E. Boyce met with Prof. Mario T. Tabucanon, Acting President and Provost; Dr. Nazrul Islam, Acting Dean SOM; Dr. Tess del Rosario, Acting Dean, AIT Extension; Dr. Amrit Bart, faculty of AARM/ SERD; Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary; Ms. Kulvimol Wasuntiwongse, Secretary to the Board; Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal and Ms. Hnin Aye Lwin, Program Officers, Office of the President.
AIT-AITAA Mission to Indonesia
An AIT delegation led by Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe (above, 2nd from right), Director of Promotions and accompanied by Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing (1st from left), Alumni Relations Officer visited Indonesia. With the support of H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Thailand and member of AIT Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohammad Huda Ahmad Yadi (3rd from right: above), Education and Cultural Attache' of Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, and Dr. Huda also accompanied the AIT delegation and coordinated important meetings in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Malang, Indonesia.

The AIT community welcomes Dr. W. G. Gallardo. Dr. Wenresti G. Gallardo (left) is an Assistant Professor at the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management Field of Study starting April 18, 2005. He received his B.S. Fisheries and Master of Aquaculture degrees from the University of the Philippines, and his M.S. Fisheries and Ph.D. in Marine Science from Nagasaki University, Japan.
Telecommunications Field of Study Coordinator
Dr RMAP Rajatheva has been appointed as Coordinator of the Telecommunications Field of Study of the School of Advanced Technologies for a period of two years from 1 May 2005. Dr Rajatheva's willingness to serve in this capacity is very much appreciated.
Structural Engineering Field of Study Coordinator
Dr. Pichai Nimityongskul has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the
Structural Engineering (STE) Field of Study for a period of two years, effective
16 May 2005. His willingness to serve in this capacity is much appreciated by
all STE faculty and we wish him success in this endeavor.
Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management Field of Study Coordinator
Dr. Yang Yi has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the Aquaculture and
Aquatic Resources Management (AARM) Field of Study for a period of two years,
effective 1 June 2005. His willingness to serve in this capacity is much
appreciated by all of AARM faculty and we wish him success in this endeavor.
