I am pleased to announce, effective as of 1 October 2004, the promotion in academic rank of Dr Teerapat Sanguankotchakorn (right), SAT/Telecommunications Field of Study from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor.

Dr Teerapat has been associated with the Institute since 1998. His major areas of specialization are in digital communications, filter banks design for digital image compression, and speed & image processing.

The Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Kalchana Nettayawichit (right) as Human Resources Director with effect from 1 December 2004. The Human Resources Director oversees personnel management issues and is responsible for the operation of the Human Resources Office.

AITCS to hold annual inter-house athletic meet

The AIT Community School (AITCS) will be holding its
annual inter-house athletic meet on Thursday, 9 December 2004 at the AIT Community School Sports Field from 8:30 am onwards.

The ceremony will be inaugurated by Dr. Hoang Le Tien, ARCA and Dr. Janekrishna Kanatharana, Director, Thailand Science Park while Dr. Chaiyaphol Kaewprakaisaengkul will be declaring the event open.

The seminar will include presentations of current research and education of SAT/AIT in the fields on Information Technology, Industrial Systems Engineering, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems.

AIT and The Bridge Fund (TBF) signed accords to jointly develop projects and activities related to higher education, research, training and capacity building initiatives that would support and promote environmental conservation, sustainable economic growth and social and cultural development in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures and Counties in the Provinces of Gansu, Sichuan, Qinghai and Yunnan and the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China.
