IntERLab conducts Hands-on Internet Network Operation Center Training
The Internet Education and Research Laboratory (intERLab) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is conducting a hands-on Internet Network Operation Center Training for 15 network engineers from Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand from 16 to 24 August 2004 at AIT.
The workshop is a joint activity organized by intERLab and the WIDE Project (Japan) as a collaboration under the Asia Broadband Human Resource Development.
Water Virtual Learning Center at AIT
AIT is to take part in the United Nation's Water Virtual Learning Center (WVLC). This was the subject of the discussion during the visit to AIT of Dr. Colin Mayfield and Dr. Velma Grover from the International Network for Water, Environment and Health (INWEH) of the United Nations University (UNU) on 19-21 July 2004. The Center will serve as a regional base for UN's 'Virtual Academy'.
The 'academy' was initiated to impart the fundamentals of water management on a global level.
APN Awards RNUS/WEM US$45,000
The Asia Pacific Network (APN) for Global Change Research recently awarded AIT's Regional Network Office for Urban Safety (RNUS) and the Water Engineering and Management (WEM) field a US$45,000 to carry on a year-long research.
Visiting AIT
On August 20, 2004 a delegation from the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City (BUHCMC), Vietnam visited AIT.
