AIT holds 101st Graduation

AIT held the 101st Graduation Ceremony on 6 August 2004, marking the 101st commencement to 265 students from 21 countries at the AIT Conference Center Auditorium.

The Chintana Boonthamjinda Memorial Prize is awarded to Mrs. REBECA FONTANILLA ANDONG in recognition of outstanding academic performance in the field of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management.

Philippines DOST names Prof. Bergado 'Balik Scientist' Awardee for 2004

The Philippines Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently named Prof. Dennes T. Bergado, faculty of SCE GTE FoS as 'Balik Scientist' Program Awardee for 2004.

The 'Balik Scientist' award -- coined from Tagalog word 'balik' that means to come back and the English word scientist -- is a government initiated program wherein Filipino science and technology experts residing abroad are encouraged to return or reside in the Philippines to share their expertise to accelerate the scientific, agro-industrial and economic development of the country.

Prof. Lee Hee Gak is currently a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Weapons Engineering at Korea Military Academy.

The Symposium is organized by the Asian Institute of Technology branch in Vietnam (AITVN) and The University of Tokyo (UT), in cooperation with Southeast Asian Center on Water Environment Technology (SACWET), a joint center of UT and AIT. The Symposium is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan through Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology.
