Seminars, Workshops and Conferences

19-24 July 2004: AIT Extension in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), will organize a workshop on 'Increasing Stakeholder Participation using Information and Communication Technology (ICT).'

Objectives:
The workshop aims to create firm foundations in design, development and implementation of both government and private projects based on the principles of participatory approach and the application of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

The workshop will cover key concepts and approaches of participatory development, analysis of stakeholders, analytical techniques and ICT tools and methods of participatory approach, building of e-communities, implementation and monitoring of participatory development projects.

Mr. Panuwat Supprung (PHD978481), a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Technical Science in Food Engineering and Bioprocess Technology FoS, School of Environment, Resources and Development will have his final examination on Wednesday, 14 July 2004, 2:00 p.m. in Room 216, AFE Building

His dissertation is entitled 'Modification of low amlose rice flour and starch by extrusion cooking and drum drying'.

Ms. Than Khin (EVC999896), a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Engineering in Water and Wastewater Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Management Field of Study, School of Environment, Resources and Development, will have her final examination on Thursday, 15 July 2004, 8:00 a.m. in room W117 (EEM Seminar Room).

Her dissertation is entitled 'Wastewater Nitrogen Removal using Mixed Microbial Culture under Oxygen Limited Conditions'.

AIT recently received Patent No. 16125: Component of Binder for Vetiver Grass Fabrication and Its Utilization from the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government for its latest breakthrough on research in vetiver grass adhesive.
