A Video Conference on 'IT Networking for Human Resources Development and Cooperation in ASEAN' on February 20, 2002

Young generation of Myanmar and other ASEAN countries will discuss and share their views at a Video Conference on 'Realtime ASEAN Interaction: IT Networking for Human Resources Development and Cooperation in ASEAN' to be conducted by AIT and University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY), Myanmar, on February 20, 2003.

The Video Conference is part of the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003, a project initiated by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi of Japan during his visit to Southeast Asian countries last January.

SERD Opens First Colloqium

On February 20, 2003, 3:00 p.m. in room S101, the School of Environmental, Resources and Development (SERD) will open the 1st SERD Colloquium on Natural Systems for Water Pollution Control

SERD colloquium is arranged to provide an informal platform for researchers in the similar field of interest to exchange experiences and visions on their ongoing activities.

King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden to visit AIT

On February 26, 2003, His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf will visit AIT. His Majesty's visit includes a familiarization tour of AIT and the event will highlight
His Majesty's inauguration of the Thailand Accident Research Center (TARC) set up at the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) with the support of Volvo.

The Bender Family hand-over President Bender's Royal Decoration to AIT

On February 4, 2003, the Bender Family handed-over the late President Milton Bender Jr,'s Royal Decoration to AIT. The Royal Thai Decoration ranking of the Commander of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant (Third Class) was delivered to Professor Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President by Mr. Michael Nicholas, a representative of the Bender Family.

Scholarship Opportunities for students from Myanmar

Partial scholarship opportunities for 2003 are now offered by the Open Society Institute and Prospect Burma for students from Myanmar.

The scholarships will be given to students in many fields and usually to those who have already been provided partial scholarships by other sources.
