AP*Retreat meeting
The Internetworking Research Laboratory and the Thailand Network
Information Center (THNIC) hosted an AP*Retreat meeting during 20-22
October, 2000 at AIT. The meeting was attended by 25 leaders from
various leading Internet organizations around the Asia-Pacific region
such as the Asia-Pacific Networking Group, Asia-Pacific Advanced
Network, Asia-Pacific Internet Asscociation and Asia-Pacific Top Level
Domain Names.
Joint NOKIA-AIT Future Moves Seminar on 'Visions of the Future'
The Telecommunications Program of the School of Advanced Technologies and NOKIA Thailand, a founding member of the School's Advanced Technology Forum (ATF), organized a joint seminar on 'Visions of the Future' on 20 October at the AIT Center Auditorium.
AIT to host Fulbright-sponsored seminar: 'Role of Environment in Engineering Education
AIT will host a Fulbright-sponsored seminar, 'The Role of Environment in Engineering Education', to be held on 15 November. Some 200 students from various universities in Thailand are expected to attend.

The Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management program is organizing a
module course on Data Management and Information Systems. This course
will be conducted by Dr. JØrgen Staunstrup, from 25-28 October in
room A25 of the Aquaculture Outreach and Training Building.
Japanese iron and steel exporters meet at AIT
Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President, welcomed sponsors of the 25th seminar of the Japan Iron and Steel Exporters Association that was held at AIT on 17-18 October. This was the association's first seminar outside Japan.
AIT signs partnership agreement with Mekong River Commission
In line with its objective to meet the continuing need for advanced education in engineering, science and technology in the Asia-Pacific region, AIT has signed a partnership agreement with the Mekong River Commission (MRC), on 11 October.

AIT Donors' Meeting
16 and 17 October 2000
As a follow-up to the Stakeholders' Forum held in September 1999, the two-day Donors' Meeting, held on 16-17 October, addressed the challenges currently faced by the Institute. The meeting gave the Institute an opportunity to acknowledge the support of its donors and to discuss with them the current status of AIT and its future course.
