Presentation of French Scholarship Certificates

H.E. Mr. Christian Prettre, the French Ambassador to Thailand, presided over the presentation of 69 French scholarship certificates on 8 September. Sixty of the scholarships will support students in the School of Management, two for Doctoral students in the School of Civil Engineering, five Master's scholarships and 1 Doctoral scholarship for the School of Environment, Resources and Development and one Master's scholarship for the School of Advanced Technologies.

YOGA Course

The regular YOGA course for adults will resume on Tuesday, 19 Sept, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Child Centre
Library. The course will last six weeks (9-10 hours). The fee is Bt600 for non-students and Bt420 for students (please show
your valid ID card on the first day).

The course is for both beginner and semi-intermediate levels.

Dr. Milton E. Bender Jr.,
first AIT President, passes away

 

The AIT Community mourns the death of Dr. Milton E. Bender Jr., founding President of the Asian Institute of Technology. Dr. Bender passed away on 12 August 2000 in Sun City, Arizona, USA.

Dr. Bender was the third Dean of the SEATO Graduate School of Engineering, serving from May 1963 to December 1967. He played a key role in the transformation of the School into the Asian Institute of Technology and served as its first President from January 1968 to February 1973. He served a second term as President from January 1975 to January 1977.
