PRINCE LEO DE LIGNAC DONATES TO AIT
Prince Leo de Lignac of the Netherlands has generously donated US$200,000 to AIT's Bioprocess Technology field of study (BPT) in the School of Environment, Resources and Development. The amount will support salaries and fees of employee Doctoral students enrolled in BPT.

WELCOME NEW FACULTY

The School of Advanced Technologies is pleased to welcome Dr. Lertsak Lakawat as a Visiting Faculty in our new Field of Study in Microelectronics, starting from the May 2000 term.

Dr. Lertsak received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1993. From 1994-1996, he worked at Seagate Technology, Bloomington, Minnesota, U.S.A., participating in the design and development of thin-film, magnetic recording heads for data storage on rigid disk files.

00.16 RTG GENERAL SUPPORT / LUMP SUM GRANT

Several proposals were put forward for the use of the RTG General Support / Lump Sum Grant (79.8 million Baht for FY 2000-2001), including: (i) to top up the partial scholarships in the form of fellowships, thus enhancing the revenue without increasing expenditures, and with the additional revenue compensating for the lost income tax reimbursement.
