KL University keen on a tie-up with AIT

Mr. Satyanarayana elaborated on the range of programs offered by KLU, and suggested that AIT can
explore offering joint programs in both academics and research.
Established as Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering, KLU is a
deemed university based in Vijayawada in Guntur district in the Indian
province of Andhra Pradesh. Deemed University status is granted by the
Ministry of Human Resource Development, India, following the advice of
the University Grants Commission.

Dr. Rao, who has served at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in
both Bombay and Chennai in India, is now serving as advisor to KLU,
remarked that educational institutes in India are increasing looking
towards South-East Asia for partnerships.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT
suggested that the partnership between the two could include joint
proposals for research, besides joint educational offerings. Prof.
I.M.Pandey, Vice President for Academic Affairs enumerated the range of
partnerships between AIT and various universities.

Others who participated in the meeting included Dr. Nitin Kumar
Tripathi, Associate Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET);
Mr. Olivier Drean, Interim-Head, External Relations and Communications
Office (ERCO); and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer,
ERCO.
